Finally back to blogging, yay! I don't really sure what I was busy of but to be true, I've been doing lots of projects and they gave me stress, so I need some time away from laptop, that's why I've been idle from the blog for such a long time. And, um, finally I have a story to write on the blog! So I'd like to share my experience for "not able to stay dry" when you're walking on the road in Thailand area during the Songkran Festival.

It was my first time -- second for my parents because they have been here on the same period of time once -- feeling the sensation of being splashed by cold water and walking around really wet all day long. I was having lots of fun and to be honest, I have planned for my next year trip to Songkran Festival again :D ! This is how it begins: my mom planned a really sudden trip to Hat Yai for Songkran Festival, it was really sudden like, three days before the flight, and so after everyone agrees, mom finally bought the boarding ticket and on the D-Day, we took the plane to Penang. Well, shit happens on the airport. Our flight was delayed for about two and a half hours. Ugh! We arrived Penang in the evening on about 7 and took a bus to the Komtar Bus Station and walked for around thirty mins to our hotel. It was a tough and tiring journey because we only got to sleep for 3 hours because we got to took the morning bus to Hat Yai again on the next day.

The tree was the first view I saw when I entered Hat Yai and I was interested with it so I captured it! And after getting through the immigration, we took a van to our Hotel. We stayed at Lee Garden Plaza Hotel during our 3 days and 2 nights in Hat Yai. In front of the hotel was where the DJ Party was held so it was easier for us to go back to hotel late at night.


So after we checked in and left our luggage in the hotel, we get changed and went out, with the purpose we want to go to the market for lunch but then, right after we stepped out of the hotel, we were already wet by water guns. Finally we decided to buy water guns for ourselves and the water war started. We were splashed, were shotted with cold waters. No one could ever stay dry during this season. Even when you were on the Tuk Tuk -- the name of traditional transportation in Thailand -- you will still be splashed.

And the DJ Party, it was held maybe from the afternoon and lasted all the night. It was real fun! And of course, while being splashed, and you yourself splashing others, you can also dance to the rhythm.

Seriously gotta go back next year. And anyway, sorry for the really late post. I know it has been like one month or more but I was definitely so busy that I couldn't manage to post this. x, Cinthy!

Well, it was the third day in Sabang. We were supposed to took our flight back to Medan on 10 a.m. but it was cancelled for the reason Garuda airplane was not going to flight to Sabang. We were disaapointed and insist to took a flight back to medan on that day because we had no more leftover clothes to stay longer in Sabang. So Garuda airlines found a way out for us. Yes, they were really responsible that finally they ask us to took a express ferry to Aceh and we can took the flight from Aceh to Medan. And the good thing is they paid for our transportation (it's a must for sure). So we went to the ferry terminal on 8 a.m. and arrived at Aceh on around 9 to 10 a.m.

Okay so here comes another problem. We need to wait until 5 p.m. for our flight back to Medan. It was so much time wasting to just wait at the airport like that. So we deciced to rent for cars and went around Aceh. In the end, we rent two cars to travel around Aceh. We didn't have much time but still, we manage to visit the popular places there like the Tsunami Museum, and the Lampuuk beach.

Lampuuk beach is really recommended if you're going to visit Aceh! The beach is a beach with white sands and of course, the blue water is the thing that will regret if you're not going there!

And the last place that I know that you need to visit is the Tsunami museum. It tells and shows much about the tsunami that happened in Banda Aceh on 2004. The museum design is also pretty and you could see and know many from visiting the museum.

Okay, so here comes the story of second day trip at Sabang. But before that, I'd like to share about the first night staying at the bungalow. It was kinda scary because that day, I was doing my project around one hour (yes, I did my project, I even brought my laptop travel to another province) so it was about 11 p.m. that time, and my sisters, were asleep so I was alone that night. And when I was about to sleep, okay, this was the scary part. I heard the sound of the waves hitting the rocks and the sound of the bats flying around. Oh that's not the scary part anyway. This is the real scary part. I heard someone's footsteps was walking approaching our bungalow. I heard two person were talking to each other. And I heard the sound of the brushwood moving. And when I was awake in the next morning, I saw a basket near our bungalow. That means there was someone came last night to took the things inside the basket. So the end! It's not a ghost story anyway.

And well, I have to admit that it was really not nice staying in that resort. Why? Well, it was extremely hot there! There's no air conditioner. There's only a big ceiling fan spinning and still, it couldn't beat the hot temperature. But then, the good thing of staying in that resort is that because they own a private beach and the view is nice there.

So, early in the morning, all of us gathered in the resort lounge to wait for the bus. On the second day, we went to somewhere quite far from our resort. Our first destination was ZERO KM. ZERO KM is such a popular place that you'd have to visit when you visit Sabang. It's a nice feeling to stand at the starting point of Indonesia. And also, they got a very nice view there. You can also climb to a big rock outside the fence near the ZERO KM area. From there, you can see such a very nice view of Sabang.

At the ZERO KM area, there were some small stands that were closed. So we sat there to relax for some moments and we ate our lunch there. But in the middle of eating lunch, some monkeys were climbing up to a higher place and those monkeys kept on watching us eating. Maybe they were hungry or something but then it was so dangerous for us to kept on sitting there. Who knows? The monkeys could attack us in any times. Then we quickly walk to the ZERO KM monument, we took photos there and we walked to another stand that sells coconut water. We sat there and enjoy our coconut water till some monkeys (different monkeys) climbed up again. They were seriously hungry I think.

Okay so from the ZERO KM, we continued our destination to Iboih Island, the place for diving, snorkling, and any other water activities. Well, I didn't manage to took any photos because I was snorkling that time and I didn't have any waterproof camera stuffs so I couldn't took any photos at the Iboih. But then doing snorkling was so much fun, even if I didn't know how to swim. But my poor daddy, was punctured by the sea urchins and my younger sister got scars around her left leg because of the rocks. Snorkling was quite a nice experience for me, but then until I learnt how to swim, I won't do snorkling anymore. After that, we went to bus, bought dinner and went back to our resort and took shower. After we're done, we gathered at the lounge to have dinner together and spent our night there until it was the time for bed.

Last June on 19, 20 and 21, my family with two other families of my mom's friends which is the total of 13 people, were going to Sabang to spend a holiday there. Well, we were super excited when we've gathered at the KNO. Especially me, I even skipped the Networking class for this holiday. We took the plane from Medan to Sabang at around 11 a.m., and then we arrived Sabang when it was almost the lunch time. When we took our step down from the airplane to the airport bus, which the airport bus drove us to the airport without us having to walk, well, it's kind of disappointing, I mean the airport but the weather back then was just so nice. The sunlight, and the heat was just a typical summer where you think "Yay! I'm finally coming for you beach" But then, everything started to disappointing me that day.

That day, just the first day we arrived there, for me, everything has become a mess. Well how can it not become a mess? First, we went to Sabang which is located in Aceh on fasting month. That sounds great to everyone. Some of my friends told me that I was crazy for going there on fasting month. They were right. No one sold or even opened their restaurant at the noon. All the restaurants there will just opened after it was the time for the fasting people to finally eat. Ohmy this was the first thing that was driving me crazy. And the second thing was, our holiday were just too short that they (read: the other two families) were not going to stay at the beach. They were going to travel the whole Sabang and not wasting their three days time staying at the beach. Oh gosh! I was seriously tired that time, and as I'm younger that them, I couldn't say anything. So with wearing t-shirts and long pants, we rent a bus to travel Sabang. It was terribly hot that day and all of us were wearing long pants because from what we heard, Sabang and Aceh wouldn't allow anyone to wear anything short except they're at the beach.

And so, the bus driver just drove us to every beach with different sands color. We took photos, and then went back to the bus, and the driver would drove us to another beach again. On the first day, we went to around 3 to 4 different beaches with of course, different views. So here are the photos of my first day trip.

 

After we travel around the Sabang, we went back to the Casa Nemo Resort, near the Sumur Tiga Beach, Weh Island. And after we got into each of our bungalows (read: cottage) and changed into the another clothes, we directly ran downstairs to the beach. It was the second time in my life seeing such a blue sea, and it was so nice to ran and play around the beach. We also managed to took a lot of photos on the beach but then we didn't manage to shoot the golden time :( Here are some photos of the Sumur Tiga Beach.
