Always follow your dreams, even if they lead you down a few dark alleys, says Teresa Mummert. For the past two months, I've been thinking about what to do with my life. I've been doing some projects and shooting some random lifestyle photos, and I thought if these are all the best I can do. Ever since I started my University life then got attached to graphic design and photography, I've been dreaming of continuing my post graduate study to another country, whether it is learning further about graphic design or even photography. I dreamt of having a creative studio of my own in the future. And then I hesitate of the choices I took, since there were so many talented young photographers and graphic designers (as if I'm old). I have received a lot of advice from influential people around me, and they said that I should be brave to compete myself to achieve my dreams. It was seriously hard for me to think that I am the best, because seriously, I'm not and I don't have that confidence to. But then again, thanks to my family and my boyfriend, I finally find the lights and encouraged myself to join a photography competition. Never in my mind I imagined myself competing against great photographers and it finally happened just like that. I'll be sharing another photos I took perhaps in the next post.

x, Cinthy.

  1. I think every one goes through these phases from time to time. I can understand how it’s disheartening when you’re surrounded by so many talented people but I think if you find your ‘thing’ that no-one else has, then there’s really nothing to compare with because every one has there own style of whatever it is they’re doing. Keep it up & I hope to see some more little projects like this one soon! Love the detail on the jeans btw! It’s really nice!

  14. I feel very similar, there are things I want to do but so many people are doing it well that I think "It's not worth me trying to be a part of it" but it is! Good luck with it all, I'm loving these photos mixed with the flowers, seriously cool!

  17. I deeply understand the phase that you're going through right now. I'm going through it myself as well. I graduated from uni, I work in the finance industry currently, but I'm not sure if this is what I want to do. I like being busy in a creative way, where I can work out all kinds of ideas. I wish you all of good luck and never doubt yourself honey. I love the photo edit!

  22. Lovely pictures you created here Cinthy! Love the effortless edgy and cool, yet romantic vibe of these. The months right after uni are definitely challenging when you don't have a clear career path in mind, but I think they are key to find your true self and who you want to become int he future. So take your time and take that leap of faith to follow your dreams, girl! Your future self will thank you later ;)

  34. Everyone goes through these thoughts! Just focus on you. Making comparisons just hinders you away from you dream. It's not about what everyone is doing, it is about focusing on you and how you will get there!
